Significance of Trafalgar Square

|
Jeevanpran Shree Muktejeevan Swamibapa first visited
London in 1970. In His honour, a magnificent Peace Parade
was held through the streets of Central London, which
culminated in a special congregation in Trafalgar Square.
This event included cultural dance and music performances
on an especially erected stage. Jeevanpran Swamibapa was
one of the first, if not the first, Hindu leader to hold such a
congregation in the Square.
Since then, our Organisation has maintained a particular
affinity with the Square. In 2000, a Procession of Peace
through the streets of Central London culminated here; in
2002, our very own Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band reopened
the renovated Square; and in 2005, the Band led
Mayor Ken Livingstone to the stage during his own ‘Diwali in
the Square’ celebrations.
These events exemplify our special
relationship with Trafalgar Square – a tradition we will
continue in years to come.
These celebrations in Trafalgar Square have established
our Organisation as an integral part of our great City’s
diverse culture.
